Back At Square One
RIP 2005 – 2008

On May 22, Fighting the Shakes will play their last ever gig. EMJ would like to pay tribute to Hadley, Jayesh and Chet for their contribution to the Wellington music scene over the past few years. Their live show is killer, so if you are in Wellington on May 22nd, head down to the San Francisco Bathhouse and see them one last time. There is no animosity between band members, they are simply parting ways as Chet is moving with his wife to the UK.

Last year the band released an EP titled All My Friends Are Electric. You can purchase it from the bands myspace page. They have also recorded a number of new tracks recently, which will hopefully be released on an EP some time in the future. You can download one of those new tracks below.

We had a gay ol’ time, but life marches on. And if anything, Wellington may or mayn’t end up with a couple of new bands, and Chet’ll keep writing sweet tunes overseas too I’m sure.
thanks for your support!

Their last show’s on a Thursday? That’s extremely lame for graveyard shift workers such as I.

I’ll be there.. My flight gets in at 8:30.
FTS breaking up is so sad.. Their last gig coincides with bfm’s Fancy New Bands show case which is on the 22nd in Auckland. Just one year ago FTS closed fancy new bands and tore it apart. It was amazing.

Sorry Sara!
We wanted to play at San Fran or somewhere with a good PA and that was the only night close to Chet’s departure that was available.
Wag work!
