She’s already toured with M.I.A and is signed to Diplo’s record label Mad Decent. Life probably can’t get much better right now for 17-year-old Rye Rye. But it just might be about to; her latest single Shake It To The Ground is starting to lift eyebrows with MTV Online calling her “Baltimore’s hipster darling”.

Whether on tour with M.I.A or playing her own show, Rye Rye always has her mum at her side. Doing her hair and make-up before each show, her mum is a huge inspiration behind her music, and unlike some young musicians she’s unafraid to admit it. However as quick as mum combs her hair, Rye Rye is out on stage getting funky; crumping and getting that hair all messed up. Her enthusiasm and passion to be innovative is clearly evident and is helped immensely by the people working and collaborating with her. Shake It To The Ground has already been remixed by Switch and Santogold. She also features on one of the most popular remixes of M.I.A’s Paper Planes alongside UK rapper Afrikan Boy.
