Swallowing Big Bird Whole
Remember Catcall, she featured on EMJ earlier in the year when she released her amazing debut EP titled Anniversary. The EP was soooo good, it made M.I.A weak at the knees. Recently she’s been crashing the Australian Vice parties and dropping her hip-hop all over the dance-floor. Unfortunately she didn’t make it over to NZ, but New York band Telepathe made up for that. But the reason we are writing about Catcall now, is because we’ve just received a brand new song. Produced by Aussie producer Mailer Daemon, ‘Bad Move Baby’ is striking and bashful, proving to be her best song to date. Combining thundering hip-hop beats with her sassy, urban vocals, it’s being dropped in night-clubs all over Australia. Showing just as much diversity as Santogold, but without the hit record; Catcall is my favourite female hip-hop artist this year.
