Lissy The Kid

Fashionable and popular Lissy Trullie is a model and musician who, with Harley Viera-Newton (bass), Eben D’Amico (guitar) and Josh Elrod (drums) makes sparse, unaffected indie pop sounding like it’s from another era. The band is causing quite a stir on the blogs at the moment, having recently played the After The Jump festival, but possibly it’s also got something to do with Lissy being a bit of a model. Appearing in Elle, Jalouse, Soma, i-D and possibly more, Lissy is well on her way to stardom, be it from music or modelling. Though the band itself are becoming substantially high flyers, their music comes across as rather understated and simple. Lissy’s Courtney Love-esque drone doesn’t do her nearly so many favours as her smouldering eyes, sky-high cheek bones and adrogynous face, but it’s definitely enjoyable indie pop that she and her bandmates create. I suggest you check it out (below)! And definitely catch them live if you can, for they’ve earned nothing but rave reviews as far as I’ve read.
