The Union man and his bunnies on ponies, or Samuel F. Scott & the B.O.P. to be exact put on a stellar show on Friday night at the Whammy bar, though we didn’t expect anything less. The Wellingtonians courted us with their witty banter, but it was like they were preaching to the choir as the crowd were obviously falling at their feet, with girls even jumping on stage to jive over-enthusiastically alongside them, despite the band’s best attempts to ignore them. The humble and hilarious Scott turned away a joint from one over-zealous punter who lit up a huge one, despite the Smokefree sponsorship blatantly in the crowd’s faces at every which way. Free branded yo yos and bottle openers anyone? Hey, at least one of them keeps those nicotine-tingling fingers happy.
