Ch-ch-ch-change is a good thing

Songs that I keep coming back to again and again are those by Amanda Palmer from The Dresden Dolls, from her recently released debut solo album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer? Juggling a range of styles pulled together from her work throughout the (continuing) lifetime of the Brechtian Punk Cabaret band, which has been revered for instilling some much-needed femme power and faux-debauched glam punk to the worldwide mix, and leading a drooling fan base with a highly-addictive blogspot with personalised rantings of the highest order, Amanda knows how to push herself and her talents to the limits. Always unafraid, this release sees her carrying on in her timely tradition, swaying between gentle lilting odes, gothic romps, and duelling with such guests as East Bay Ray from the Dead Kennedys on stand-out track Guitar Hero, as well as other guests Annie Clark of St Vincent, and Zoe Keating. Amanda Palmer’s solo work is unmissable for fans of The Dresden Dolls, and highly recommended for anyone even slightly curious of the positives change can bring.
