Jay Reatard & No Age in NZ!!!

EMJ is extremely excited to announce that two of our favourite artists are coming to New Zealand! Jay Reatard and No Age will be playing at the San Fransisco Bathhouse on February 3rd and at the Kings Arms on February 4th! Established psychedelic grunge punk legend from Memphis, Tennessee, Jay “Jay Reatard” Lindsey has recently become a firm favourite of EMJ’s (see our article on him here), with unrivaled energy, enthusiasm and a die-hard punk ethic, with an ability to transform already-amazing songs like Deerhunter’s Fluorescent Grey into his own manic grin-inducing masterpiece. Dean Spunt and Randy Randall of No Age are also easily among this generation’s best sonic noise-punk purveyors, combining the likes of Sonic Youth’s carefully crafted feedback/drone guitar qualities with true experimental punk grit, delivered with a technicolour modern style.
