The Wine Cellar, Auckland

Princess Chelsea and her wonderful princess band played their first public show at The Wine Cellar last night. The gig was also a farewell party for her sister Olivia who is moving to Melbourne; understandably every song was delightfully dedicated to her.

Nervously explaining the meaning behind each song, Chelsea led her band through six original numbers, including ‘Machines of Loving Grace’, ‘Ice Reign’ and ‘Positive Guy Meets Negative Man’, a song about her old South African flatmate. While slightly scratchy at times, as the band still gets used to playing live, the songs were delivered beautifully, with both Chelsea and Jamie-Lee’s voices combining perfectly. The music transferred into the live setting nicely and I think Chelsea can be very proud.
