Fully Flying Solo

In a blog post today, Amanda Palmer announced that she will not be bringing her band The Danger Ensemble to New Zealand. On her popular blog titled Amanda Fucking Palmer she wrote, “we’ve all been through hell and back and we’ve performed ourselves raw and we’ve reached the end… and we are performing our last show together tonight in Perth… after tonight, everyone is getting on planes headed to different corners of the globe tomorrow.”

In the post she also expresses her love for all four members of the ensemble and is deeply saddened by the split. She calls them her “family” and says “what these guys do, and are going into the world to do now without me - it is way beyond theater. It is a pure manifestation of wanting to change the world into love through performance. Please, please, don’t stop watching.”

The separation also comes after recent news of her split with fellow Dresden Doll Brian Viglione (you can read a wee bit more about that here), which Palmer blogged about several months ago.

Amanda Palmer has two shows in New Zealand; in Auckland on March 10 and in Wellington on March 12. Local band Battle Circus will be playing support at both shows. The band has previously supported Amanda Palmer on a tour throughout Germany in October last year.
