Treat Me Like Your Mother

 

The second single from The Dead Weather’s debut album Horehound is the stomping ‘Treat Me Like Your Mother’. A more aggressive organ-ode than their previous single ‘Hang You From The Heavens’, this one has an almost Rage Against The Machine-rock out and rap by member Jack White in the final verse! Combining the aggressive energy of Jack White seen in The White Stripes’ more rambunctious songs, with The Kills’ Alison Mosshart’s sexual tension in her stuttery, harsh vocals, with an awesomely retro-sounding rhythm section, ‘Treat Me Like Your Mother’ is even more captivating and excitement-igniting than ‘Hang You From The Heavens’. Horehound will be out in Europe on July 13 and in North America on July 14 on Jack White’s label Third Man Records. Also just announced, EMJ favourites Screaming Females are to support The Dead Weather on their first ever (and largely All Ages!) tour of North America in July! Dates are as follows:
