No Geographic Boundaries

People in New Zealand will know Nik Brinkman as one of the founding members of Over The Atlantic (whose album Dimensions was one of my favourites of 2008); however they may not know that he has another project called Psychic Powers which he works on via the world wide web, sending songs and ideas back and forth to L.A musician Alejandro Cohen. People in L.A will know Cohen for his work with the band Languis.
The pair has been collaborating since 2007, after meeting briefly when Over The Atlantic was touring through L.A. Taking their own unique song writing skills and mixing them together, they’ve come up with a sound that resembles very closely their other work, but with some very subtle changes. So if you like Over The Atlantic and/or Languis chances are you will absolutely love Psychic Powers.
Psychic Powers currently has an EP out through RCRD LBL titled Frozen and you can download all four songs for free from the label’s website. They also have a brand new pink 7″ vinyl that is out via the Geographic North label. It’s the fourth in a series of releases the label is putting out under the name You Can’t Hide Your Love Away Forever. It contains the songs ‘Wellington’ (A side) and ‘Foreign Photograph’ (B side) and can be purchased for $6 from the Geographic North website.

I though you should have called this article “Over the Pacific”. Too obvious?
