Transparent Heart

Glasser

A kaleidoscopic sound encompassing qualities of Kate Bush, Karen Dalton and Arthur Russell, Glasser (aka Cameron Mesirow with help from Matt Popieluch and Charles Burrus) instantly captivates. In ‘Apply’ Mesirow’s erie percussive vocal sounds and tribal rhythms cascade over swoony sighs and a cranky bottom end synth grumble. Clearly creative in the way she can use her voice, Glasser has been remixed by Chairlift, apt considering the two bands’ comparative, almost classical-sounding voices. Mesirow’s music is beautiful in a messed up, awkward, weird kind of way, and not unlike a modern day Björk. Glasser released a beautiful looking 12″ on True Panther Sounds in May, featuring her songs ‘Apply’, ‘Glad’ and ‘Learn’, plus remixes by Tanlines, Lucky Dragons, and John Talabot.
